USA Real Tennis Success
During the Easter holidays Howard Angus, Haileybury’s rackets professional, represented Great Britian in the Cockram Trophy in New York for the World Over 50’s Amateur Real Tennis Team event. He played the No 1 string singles for his side. In the final against USA, Britian won 4 matches out of 5, winning all three singles matches and one of the two doubles rubbers. Howard, with 4 semi-finals and 4 finals over the two days managed to record wins in the Over 40’s Singles and Doubles and the Over 50’s Singles. This was Howard’s swan-song on the international amateur Real Tennis scene as he will be leaving Haileybury at the end of this term after 6 years as Rackets Pro to become Head Rackets Professional at The Queen’s Club in West London, the ‘home’ of Rackets in this country.
