Rugby success for the XLV
With only one loss in the first half of the term, the XLV, Haileybury’s mighty 3rd XV rugby team, have achieved a level of consistency unmatched in previous seasons.
Not all victories have been easily achieved though. The match against Dulwich was tied entering the last three minutes. Dulwich then conceded a final minute penalty, allowing Haileybury captain Diego Bresciani to kick three points. The final score was 13-10.
Against Tonbridge, early scores kept the XLV ahead, but at the start of the second half Tonbridge showed their true form, scoring twice without reply and nearly levelling the game. A second score from Sleath and one from Harris put the game safe. Final score 26-17.
The team can go forward into the second half of the season with some confidence, but there are some tough games ahead, including Oundle, Rugby and Bedford.
