Rackets
Haileybury’s Rackets Professional, Howard Angus recently took part in two British Rackets Championship finals at Queen’s Club. Howard and his partner Old Tonbridgeian John Spurling, retained the Over 40’s Championship title by beating former World Champion, John Prenn and his partner Norwood Cripps 3 games to 1 in the final. Later in the day he went on to partner Old Etonian David Norman in the final of the British over 50’s Rackets Championships but were unable to prevent another former World Champion, Willie Boone and his partner Aiden MacEchern from winning the title. Matches are played regularly – this week the visiting teams are from Tonbridge and St. Paul’s whose court was opened this time last year making it the 14th school in the UK to have its own court.
