Prestigious award
Head of School, Tom George (B) has been awarded the Rugby World ‘Player of the Month’ for October. Tom was chosen from nominations from schools across the UK for this prestigious award. A member of the Northants Saints Elite Academy for rugby before joining Haileybury in 2001, Tom is Captain of the 1st XV and has recently been picked for the Middlesex Schools U18 County Team. His reading of the game, allied to rare handling skills for a forward and firm tackling, mark him as a promising player. He has been the most important factor in Haileybury’s unbeaten season so far.
George has a nose for the try-line – as demonstrated against Sevenoaks when he scored a hattrick of tries – and he’s sure to be a candidate for England Schools. "Tom has been an outstanding Captain this year leading by example" commented Ian George, Head of Boys Games
