Lower School Chamber Choir performed at The Royal Festival Hall
Our Lower School Chamber Choir had the privilege of performing at the magnificent Royal Festival Hall as part of the Barnardo's National Choral Competition on Monday, 4 March.
Hundreds of choirs enter the event each year and we were delighted to have been one of just 18 choirs selected from across the UK in the under 12 category.
The Royal Festival Hall located in the heart of the Southbank Centre complex, is a Grade I listed hall and is one of the world’s leading performance venues. Our pupils were thrilled to have been given the opportunity to perform in such an iconic building, along with 17 other finalist choirs from across the country.
The Lower School pupils have been working very hard in the last few months, preparing under the expert direction of Andrew O’Brien, Director of Music at Haileybury.
Andrew O’Brien commented: “I am incredibly proud of the Lower School Choir. They have worked hard, and their powerful sound filled The Royal Festival Hall. They sang expressively and with 100% commitment. We very much look forward to competing in other such prestigious competitions.”
We are immensely proud of their achievement and wish our Lower School Chamber Choir the very best of luck in future music competitions!
