Lower School 2 pupil through to the Area Festival Dressage Championships
Olivia L, a Lower School 2 (Year 8) pupil, won gold in Dressage.
It has been an exciting term for one of our Lower School pupils, Olivia. She not only won a gold medal in the Petplan Equine Area Festival Dressage event recently but more importantly, has qualified and will be competing at the forthcoming Area Festival Dressage Championships in 2019.
Competition was fierce but what made her victory even more special is the fact that some of the pupils she competed against were twice Olivia’s age!
Despite her busy schedule at school, Olivia always finds time to train and compete with her horse Cracker. She enthusiastically said that: “winning a gold medal was a dream of mine, so I am very happy. What I like about dressage is that a real bond is being built between you and your horse and it is an amazing feeling when you do well.”
The Petplan Equine Area Festivals have the highest level of participation in British Dressage series, with more than 4,000 horse and rider combinations taking part. These dressage events give riders the opportunity to experience the thrill of taking part in a prestigious championship competition.
Qualifying for the Area Festival Dressage Championships is the ultimate goal for many dressage riders. The competition is to be held at Hartpury College, Gloucestershire next April 2019. We wish Olivia the very best of luck!
