Louis records 37th fastest time in Swimathon
Haileybury swimmer Louis George recorded the fastest time in the country by a 10-12 year old swimmer in the recent endurance Swimathon over a distance of 10km or 400 lengths of the Haileybury pool.
Louis’s time of 2 hours 36 minutes 0.116 seconds was 37th over all age groups and both sexes. The nearest competitor in his age group recorded a time of 2:41:15.
Now in its 17th year, Swimathon is the world’s largest fundraising swim challenge. Last year the event attracted 32 000 swimmers to 525 pools across the UK, raising £2.2 million for Macmillan Cancer Relief and the Swimathon Foundation.
Louis has also gained his first national qualifying time, for the 1500m at Sheffield on the last day of last term.
Well done, Louis!
