Lizzie and Juliana in U18 football squad
Congratulations to pupils Lizzie Dunning and Juliana Velasco who have both been selected for the Home Counties Under 18 representative football team. The trials and training day were held on 22 January and a squad of 18 was chosen.
The trialists were put through their paces by QPR coach Neil Dejyothin and ex-QPR first team player, Cez Guard, whilst the goalkeepers had a specialist session run by Rob Potter. The session consisted of a variety of skills and drills followed by some small sided possession games and tactical work.
The standard of football was impressive and the improvement from last year shows how much girls’ football is developing in the independent sector. The Home Counties team will field a strong team at the ISFA Under 18 Regional Representative Tournament on 18 March 2012 at Marlborough.
