Ladies Rugby
Karen Andrews was recently selected to play rugby in the Ladies England A team against Spain in Barcelona. Karen, who teaches geography at Haileybury, played fly half in what turned out to be a very close game. England won 10-5. This is not the first time that Karen has been selected to play for England. Amongst others, last summer she played for a select side in the European Championships in Lille, France. The "relatively inexperienced, young" side made it through to the third and fourth play off games beating France at home in the huge ‘Stad de Nord’ stadium. Karen started playing rugby in her last year of university and this is where her love of the sport grew. It was whilst playing for the Worcester Ladies team, a recent promotion to Division 1, that she was first selected to play for England.
