Hertfordshire Festival of Music at Haileybury this weekend
Classical music fans are in for a treat this weekend as Haileybury is hosting two fantastic Hertfordshire Festival of Music (HFoM) events – and tickets and places are still available.
On Friday afternoon (Friday 9 June), soprano Dame Emma Kirkby (pictured) and performer Marcia Hadjimarkos will hold a masterclass for young singers and pianists in our historic Bradby Hall.
Emma’s voice and style are recognised world-wide, and she was awarded a DBE in 2007 and a Queen’s Medal for Music in 2011. Marcia fell in love with keyboard instruments when she was just four years old and has gone on to perform at a number of renowned venues.
Running between 2-5pm, the masterclass is free but advance booking is required. To find out more please email info@hertsmusicfest.org.uk or call 07976 307423.
The masterclass will be followed by a concert on Sunday 11 June by award-winning violinist Sarah-Jane Bradley.
Sarah-Jane will join forces with virtuoso pianist John Lenehan to create some beautiful music to get your Sunday off to a relaxed start.
The concert will take place in Bradby Hall at 11.00am and tickets cost £15 (under 18s and students £2). Please book tickets at hertfordtheatre.com
Haileybury is a proud sponsor of the HFoM, which aims to celebrate the county’s vibrant classical music culture with appearances by world-class performers.
This year’s festival is running from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 June, at a variety of venues in and around Hertford, including Haileybury. To find out more go to hertsmusicfest.org.uk
