Haileybury Sixth Form pupils produce 85% A* - B grades
Haileybury’s Sixth Formers have turned out the best set of results the school has ever seen, with the percentage of A* – B grades standing at 85.3% – almost 5% better than last year’s results and more than 3% higher than the School’s previous best – while Haileybury’s overall pass rate is 100%.
97.8% of A Level pupils achieved A* – C grades, compared to 93.1% last year. In addition, of the 320 exam entries, 51.3% achieved the A* or A grade, compared to the national average of 27%.
20% of all Haileybury’s exam entries at A2 level were for the three sciences.
Ilyas Iskakov was Haileybury’s best achiever, with 5 A*s in Further Maths, Maths, Russian, Chemistry and Physics. Fangjia He achieved 4 A*s, while Ikenna Okoli, Josh Maraney, Leanna Jones, Rupert Tottman, Illona Bateson, Annie Woodcock and Jemma Webster gained 2 A*s and 2As.
This academic excellence comes after nearly a third of candidates for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at Haileybury secured 40 points or more out of a maximum of 45. 57% of Higher Grades were at 6 or 7, which is equivalent to an A or A* at A Level.
The results mean that Haileybury boasts six pupils accepted into Oxbridge colleges for September 2011.
