In what promises to be a fascinating lecture, Professor Sir Martyn Poliakoff aims to show why Green Chemistry can give us the chance to think differently about chemistry.

Professor Sir Martyn Poliakoff will explain what Sustainability and Green Chemistry are and why they are important, and discuss many key ideas on this topic, including how we can begin to judge whether a chemical process is ‘green’, how chemistry can impact the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the meaning of Systems Thinking, Supercritical Fluids, Chemical Leasing and Moore’s Law for Chemistry.

 

British chemist and popular communicator of chemistry Professor Sir Martyn was a pioneer in using YouTube as a means of communicating science. A lecturer at the University of Nottingham, he is known for his work in supercritical fluids and Green Chemistry as well as leadership roles in the Royal Society of Chemistry.
