Erasmus Essay Prize success for Evangeline
Sixth Form pupil Evangeline has won third place in a prestigious inter-school philosophy essay competition.
The theme of the Erasmus Essay Prize 2017, organised by Reed’s School in Surrey, was ‘God and Evil’.
In her essay, Evangeline discussed: ‘To what extent does free will solve the problem of evil?’
The competition organiser said he was “very impressed” with her essay.
Evangeline was presented with her prize yesterday by philosopher and author Dr Stephen Law at Reed’s School (pictured).
Dr Law is Reader in philosophy at Heythrop College, University of London, and editor of the Royal Institute of Philosophy journal THINK.
