Congratulations to Haileybury's GCSE Candidates
Congratulations to Haileybury’s GCSE candidates, who have achieved fantastic results of 95.9% A* – C grades in their exams.
Five pupils – Hannah Grundy (C), Rosie Woodcock (C), Florence Hill (Aby), Natasha Ahmed (Alb) and Edward Karsten (Tr) – have been named among the top 10 in the country in English Literature in their iGCSE examinations. Another two – Hannah Grundy and Jessica Hui (H) – achieved top 10 status in their English Language iGCSE examinations, which were sat earlier this summer.
In the UK, 480 candidates sat the English Literature paper while 862 candidates for the English Language paper.
Overall, 57.1% of pupils achieved A or A* grades. This is marginally down on last year’s total of 61.1%.
Those pupils who achieved 10 A*s or more include Alistair Hamilton (Th), Rosie Woodcock (C) and Jessica Hui (H).
The Master, Stuart Westley, says: "We are very pleased with these results, and are particularly proud of those pupils who excelled in their English exams. Taking into account our record A Level and International Baccalaureate results, announced last week, we are continuing to strengthen our status as one of the leading schools in the country."
