Christian voted Norwich City Player of the Year
Congratulations to Removes pupil Christian Scales (BFr), who has been voted Under 14 Player of the Year for the 2010/2011 season at the Norwich City FC Academy.
This is his first full year as an academy player and to be voted the best player by his peers is certainly an accollade to cherish.
As Player of the Year, he was presented with an engraved award at the end of the session by the academy head coach/manager.
Two more Haileybury pupils, James Smith and Callum Scutt, are also part of the ISFA Under 14 football squad and, together with Christian, took part in the Easter ISFA Under 14 matches at Bradfield College. There were matches against Wycombe, Leyton Orient, Crystal Palace and Fulham.
Both James and Callum have also been invited to attend the July and August training camps.
Christian took part in a Sports Science Testing programme last Saturday which the Academcy emphasised as extremely important to its players. Christian was the third all round fittest player in the Norwich City U14 squad and was the quickest player in the squad.
He also represented the Under 13s and the Under 14s in ISFA tournaments against professional academies in 2009, 2010 and 2011 at Repton school, Derby, MK Dons/Leicester training grounds and Bradfield College, Reading. He has since been invited to play for the Under 14s again this summer at development camps in July and August and, if he performs well in these, he will be part of an elite Under 15 squad for the 2011/12 season.
Congratulations on all his achievements!
