Celebration of rugby at Allianz Park
Our second celebration of rugby event will kick off tomorrow (18 October) at the home of Saracens, Allianz Park.
Following on from last year’s successful evening, it will be a fantastic opportunity for young rugby players to soak up the atmosphere of the stadium and experience what it is like to be a professional.
Haileybury has strong links with Saracens; former pupils Chris Wyles, Matt Hankin, Jamie George and Nick Isiekwe are current Sarries players.
First on the programme is an U11 boys’ rugby tournament at 6pm, with the aim of enjoyment, endeavour and sportsmanship.
Good luck to all the teams taking part from Caldicott, Chesham Prep, Gayhurst, Heath Mount, Lochinver House, St Benedict’s, St John’s and The Beacon schools.
Next up will see Haileybury’s 1st XV take on Eton’s 1st XV in a nail biting fixture at 7.35pm.
Our XV has had a solid season so far with wins over St Albans and Oundle, so this looks set to be a great match – we wish both teams all the best.
Everyone is very welcome to come along and watch any part (or indeed all!) of the event. A cash bar will be available.
