Boys' hockey XI still unbeaten
The 1st XI boy’s hockey team remain unbeaten after a good win over Bancrofts on Saturday. Bancrofts recently won the East of England section of the National Cup.
Star players in the team include Stuart Pilgrim (Th), who plays National Premier League Hockey for St Albans. He broke his hand in the victory over Forest and consequently missed the games against Mill Hill and King’s.
In his absence Gareth George (BFr) captained the team. It’s Gareth’s 3rd year in the 1st XI and he is an outstanding goalkeeper, according to coach, Chris Jones.
"The team has also been strengthened by the arrival of three outstanding German players into the L6th. Moritz Merkenich (K) has proved to be a highly talented player and was instrumental in the impressive victory away at King’s.Tom Schwarz (Th) and Nico Moss (K) have both scored some vital goals and have emerged as key players in the team."
Only four of the side are in the U6th, so there is a good foundation for 2005.
The results so far:
Aldenham 10-1
Kimbolton 3-1
Forest 2-1
Mill Hill 9-0
King’s Canterbury 4-1
Haberdashers 5-1
Bancrofts 3-2
Saturday’s match is against Berkhampstead.
