Boys football 1st XI through to the second round of the IFSA cup
Congratulations to the boys’ football 1st XI on getting through to the second round of the IFSA Cup yesterday!
Despite the tricky wind conditions, the team kept moving the ball fluidly against a determined Stamford and won the game 6-1, including a terrific hat trick from Max.
Throughout the game, the Haileybury defence was incredibly well-organised, which is all the more commendable since this was their first time playing competitively together. Sonny, Kushal, and Sam, Vths, made an impressive 1st XI debut amongst their Sixth Form teammates, and the whole team worked exceptionally well together controlling the pace and tempo of the game.
The team is now back in training and excited for the next round! ⚽
“It was a hard-fought game in challenging weather conditions; however, the boys rose to the occasion, showed a really promising start to the season and a step in the right direction. I am looking forward to seeing what the next round holds.” – Austin, Upper Sixth
