Barcelona Art Trip
"For one to fully appreciate the subtle architectural nuances of a building or understand the full meaning of a painter’s work, his choices and his intent, it is necessary to view the work in the context of the artist’s world." During April, sixteen Art and History of Art students were given the unique opportunity to view first-hand the work of famous Spanish artists such as Antoni Gaudi, Pablo Picasso, Joan Miro, and Salvador Dali on the bi-annual Art Department trip to Barcelona. The trip, led by History of Art teacher Sarah Beales and Artist in Residence, Zachary Dunbar, provided invaluable insights into the culture and historical framework of Spanish art.
