Attlee biographer to talk at Haileybury
Professor David Howell, who recently published a well-received biogaphy of Clement Attlee (OH), will give a talk on Attlee on Monday, 5 February at 7.30pm.
David Howell researches in the following areas: British political history; the study of comparative labour movements and historical sociology. He teaches Historical Sociology, National Identities, Who Runs Britain? and Politics and the Novel. He is also the editor of the Dictionary of Labour Biography and the author of (amongst others) A Lost Left and Respectable Radicals: Studies in the Politics of Railway Trade Unionism.
He has just completed a manuscript entitled MacDonald’s Party: Labour Identities and Crisis 1922-31. He is also Editor of ‘Twentieth Century British History’.
