All A*s for Middles Mathematicians
The Haileybury community had plenty to celebrate on GCSE results day last week, with a new College record of nearly 400 A* grades in total.
But one class of 24 particularly talented Middles (Year 10) mathematicians deserve a special mention. Not only did the Set 1 class sit the I(GCSE) Mathematics exam a year early, but every single pupil in the class achieved an A* grade.
The class will now work towards sitting the Additional Mathematics course at the end of Fifths (Year 11), which will help to extend their knowledge and understanding of the subject and provide a good foundation for further study.
Teacher of Mathematics Niall McCarthy said, “I am delighted with the group and what they have achieved. Everyone has worked hard and their focus and dedication has paid off. This is a new record for the school and we are all very proud.”
