Sixth Form
Sixth Form at Haileybury presents exciting opportunities and empowers pupils to have significant choice over their pathways.
Central to the Haileybury programme is the idea of personalised education, where you choose the courses you study, and you have control over the direction of your pathway.
You can choose to study for A Levels or for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB).
The range of courses on offer at Haileybury is hugely exciting.
A levels
The A Levels curriculum provides a focused, investigative learning opportunity. By choosing three or four subjects, pupils identify as subject specialists and explore subject areas in detail. Their pathways are complemented with appropriate electives, and balanced with the core curriculum.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP)
The IBDP curriculum provides a holistic, connected learning opportunity. By balancing subject choices across different disciplines, pupils explore the interdisciplinary aspects of learning and understanding. The pathways are complemented by a core of Theory of Knowledge, The Extended Essay and Creativity, Activity and Service.
Examinations results
We are extremely proud of the excellent results achieved by our A Level, IB and (I)GCSE pupils this year. The A level and (I)GCSE results 2023 are the best in the School’s history of years when grades were awarded at the ‘normal’ (i.e. the non-pandemic years) standard. The combined A level/IBDP results are also the best achieved by our pupils when grades were awarded at the ‘normal’ standard with 87% of grades awarded at A* – B or the IBDP equivalent.
