Tennis
Boys and girls are pushed to raise their tennis game to the highest level while also thriving in the enjoyment of this quintessentially summer sport.
For pupils wishing to learn and develop their tennis skills – both mentally and physically – Haileybury offers top class facilities which are available all year round. Expert strength and conditioning coaching is also provided.
Coaching
Coaching for Tennis is offered all year round for the Senior School and in the Summer term for Lower School and Middle School.
In the Autumn term, our elite group trains at Legends Tennis Centre (on site) whilst another group trains on our outside courts at Hailey Lane.
In the Summer, Tennis is a full-on program with training on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for both the Senior and Middle school, whilst the Lower School train on Monday and Wednesdays. During this term we enjoy fixtures weekly on Saturdays, with also additional midweek fixtures.
Facilities
There are eight outdoor courts on Hailey Lane and nine outdoor courts on the Astro, in addition to the four outdoor courts and four indoor courts at the onsite Legends Tennis Centre.
Tours
Pupils recently enjoyed a mixed tennis tour to Portugal and are due to head back to Vale de Lobo in the Easter Holidays 2024 for another fantastic trip.
Fixtures
Pupil have the opportunity to play other schools in the Saturday block fixtures.
Legends Tennis UK
Central to our Tennis offering is our link with Legends Tennis UK, an LTA Performance Centre with indoor and outdoor courts, set within the campus.
This state-of-the-art facility combines Grand-Slam quality indoor courts with the latest technology in playing surfaces to provide one of the best school training facilities available anywhere in the UK.
Expert coaching from LTA coaches
Pupils have access to a team of highly experienced LTA coaches who deliver individual training throughout the year to players from performance through to developmental levels.
All pupils qualify for Haileybury membership at Legends Tennis UK with programmes and individual support available to players during the school day where space and time is available.
