Conservation
The Conservation Group created an apiary site for bee-keeping with several colonies of honey bees successfully introduced.
The aim is not only to learn about bees and the important role they play as pollinators in our food chain, but also to harvest the honey and sell it to raise funds for charity.
Pupils also build colourful bird boxes for trees around the campus, which act as a safe place for birds to nest. The Conservation Group distribute a variety of foods for birds during the winter months when natural food is harder to come by. Other projects include working on a local allotment, maintaining stream crossings in the Haileybury woods and planting trees.
