Topping out ceremony celebrates significant milestone as SciTech build nears completion
The Master of Haileybury Martin Collier, Estate Director Stuart Hay, School Governor Gerald Ellison, and representatives from Kier Construction, Hopkins Architects, Integral Engineering Design and ME Landscapes, came together for the topping out ceremony of the SciTech Project, marking a significant milestone as the build nears completion.
The topping out ceremony, a tradition of Scandinavian origins, celebrates the installation of the last or highest beam in a building’s construction. Construction of the SciTech Project started in July 2022, and we are delighted that the buildings are set to open to pupils in the Autumn Term.
The new facilities aim to inspire the next generation of scientists, mechanics and engineers and equip our pupils with the essential skills to progress on to study Science and Technology subjects at leading universities. We are also proud that the buildings feature many sustainable elements as we bring science to life and strive to reach our net zero targets.
