Music Tour of Salzburg and Munich
Haileybury pupils from all year groups visited Salzburg and Munich on a 4-day music tour before the Christmas holiday.
They visited Mozart’s home, discovered Austria’s musical heritage and performed in a variety of iconic venues, from Rosenheim Church to Salzburg Cathedral.
One of our Lower School pupils, Joseph, commented: “The trip was packed with action and filled to brim with festivities and Christmas repertoire such as ‘Still still still’ and ‘Once in Royal David City’. We’ve had the honour of performing at the Rosenheim Church and Salzburg Cathedral. When we weren’t performing, we had a blast, sleigh riding, skiing or shopping in the wonderful Christmas markets.” Lower School 1 enjoyed a meal in the oldest restaurant in Europe while senior pupils had an opportunity to socialise with an Austrian school.
The tour ended with a visit of Munich, during which the young musicians explored this wonderful German city and learnt more about its rich music history.
