Chamber Choir competes for national title
The 35-strong Haileybury Chapel Chamber Choir last weekend competed for the title of BBC Songs of Praise School Choir of the Year 2005. They spent all of Saturday in a closed-doors competition, after which the BBC filmed a "live" concert in front of 1 800 people. Unfortunately the results have been embargoed but the first programme was shown on BBC1 on Sunday, 13 March and the winner will be announced during the second programme at 4.45pm on Sunday, 20 March.
The choir was a finalist in last year’s competition.
The choir sang one traditional hymn – Be Thou My Vision, arranged by Peter Davis – and an inspirational song – I Will Sing with the Spirit by John Rutter.
