Calling all musicians and singers
The Old Haileyburian Concert planned for 11 October at 7pm in the Chapel promises to be a fine gathering of OH musicians, relatives and friends as we celebrate the splendid music traditions that have been enjoyed at Haileybury. The concert is dedicated to Jack Hindmarsh, Director of Music at Haileybury from 1966-89.
It is hoped that this gathering will form the nucleus for some of the music celebrations being planned for Haileybury’s 150th anniversary in 2012. Any interested singers are encouraged to sign up – PLEASE join us – simply let Director of Music, Quentin Thomas, know by email (q.thomas@haileybury.com) if you’d like to participate and then arrive on 11 October at 11am in the Bradby Hall.
Dress for the concert: DJs & black tie for men, black for ladies with a ‘splash of colour’.
The programme will be:
Vaughan-Williams: Serenade to Music
(performed by 16 invited soloists)
Parry: I was glad
Fauré: Requiem
All of this will be accompanied by the orchestra, ensuring the dome is suitably raised for the key moments!
