Haileybury appoints a new Head of Lower School
Dr Laura Pugsley has been appointed as the new Head of Lower School at Haileybury, succeeding Mr Chris Jones, who is moving to Churcher’s College in Petersfield, Hampshire to be Deputy Head. Dr Pugsley will take up the position at the start of the next academic year.
She is well acquainted with the Lower School, having been a tutor there for the past five years. She has also taught History in the Lower School at various times over the years. Dr Pugsley coaches both boys’ and girls’ hockey as well as rounders. She has previously been a tutor in Colvin, one of the girls’ boarding houses, the Universities Co-ordinator and the Gifted and Talented Co-cordinator. She is currently Co-ordinator of Haileybury’s IB Programme, a post which she will relinquish at the end of the year.
"I have every confidence that Dr Pugsley will prove to be a first-rate successor to Mr Jones and will continue to build on the excellent provision and reputation of our Lower School," says the Master of Haileybury, Mr Joe Davies.
