1st lax team win 10-3
Lower School girls had their very first lacrosse match this weekend against Princess Helena College (PHC). They played very well in the cold, wet weather but lost by 4 to the slightly more experienced team.
The 1st team also played at PHC and came away with a 10-3 victory, despite poor field conditions and low visibility. The PHC goalkeeper was one of the strongest Haileybury has faced this season, but this did not stop midfielder Alana Zukas (Aby). She accounted for 7 of the 10 goals and controlled the majority of the face-offs. Vicky Allner (C) had the remaining 3 goals, including the last of the match, assisted by a beautiful pass from low-attacker Lola Bateson (C) from behind the net.
The 1st team approach the end of their season with a record of 7 wins, 0 losses and 2 draws.
A squad of nine players played in the Under 15 tournament on Friday at St George’s. Haileybury finished 3rd and tied the 1st place team, Berkhamstead, 2-2.
Congratulations to Chloe Allen (C) who was awarded team MVP.
