Haileybury boys win Oakham Relays
Haileybury’s athletes did a fantastic job at the Oakham Relays yesterday, winning the 4x400m (Christian Scales in 54.4s on the last leg) in a new school record; 2nd in the 1500m Relay; winners of the Medley Relay; and 3rd in the Dreilauf.
This left the boys needing a win in the final event, the 4x100m, to take the overall Junior title. There was a slick performance from them, which allowed us to come home first in the 4x100m in a school record equalling 48.4s.
"It was super to head onto the Midlands circuit and beat Uppingham, Oundle, Greshams, Bedford and especially a much larger squad of Oakham athletes in their backyard!" says the coach, Richard Williams.
Well done to all the boys!
