New dinghies added to Haileybury fleet
The Haileybury Sailing Team recently welcomed six new fibreglass FireFly dinghies to its fleet. The Master, Joe Davies, launched the sailing boats which were funded through the generosity of Haileybury donors. All those who supported this appeal were invited to attend the event, which was marked by a race against Eton.
The Master in charge of Sailing, Angus Head, gave a short speech during which he also announced the names of the six boats: Ariel, Jabula, La Manche, Butler, Phoenix and Tess.
The Sailing Boat Appeal was launched at the beginning of the year, and we are grateful to the Haileybury community for helping us raise in excess of £52,000. Having experienced much success the last two seasons, it is hoped that the new fleet of boats will help continue this run of achievement for Haileybury sailors.
