Double debating success for Haileyburians
Hot on the heels of our recent success in the ESU Schools’ Mace debating competition, our public speaking team qualified from the first round of the ESU Public Speaking Competition on Tuesday 6 December.
Taking place at St Clement Danes School in Chorleywood, Hertfordshire, our team consisted of Katherine Wingfield as speaker, Ellie Owen as chair, and Morgan Brook as questioner.
Mr Blair said: “Katherine gave a speech on whether or not we should respect politicians, arguing that we should not respect every one of them but that respect should be our default position. They are all now looking forward to the country finals in February 2017.”
