Fifths Set 2 mathematicians achieve record number of IGCSE A*s
Every year, our Fifth Form Set 2 mathematicians take the IGCSE exam early in January in a bid to secure some top marks. Typically just over half the class manage the feat of attaining an A*, however the 2017 cohort scored an avalanche of A*s with 19 of the 22 pupils attaining the very top grade.
A delighted Teacher of Mathematics, Miss Michelle Hillen, said: “I am extremely proud and delighted with the class. They all worked incredibly hard, even over the Christmas holidays. Their diligence and determination paid off, achieving the best results from a Set 2 ever, which they thoroughly deserved! Well done!”
The pupils are currently studying some of the Additional Mathematics course which will help to extend their knowledge and understanding of the subject and provide a good foundation for further study.
