1st XI draw against Bancrofts
Hockey coach Andy Searson reports on the latest hockey results:
1st XI v Bancrofts DRAW 1-1
The 1st XI is really starting to function well and some of the hockey was scintillating at times. The first touch of our side is improving week on week and we are starting to hit top gear. Bancrofts were clinging on by the skin of their teeth and yet we were never able to close the game out with a vital second goal, having taken the lead before half time with a super move.
Their keeper made a couple of impressive saves and we spurned several glorious opportunities, having produced some dynamic lead up play. In the end, we were to pay the price as they took their sole chance of the match and thus scrambled a wholly undeserving draw.
However, with the back four looking as classy as can be and Tom Billings’ workrate in midfield, things look very rosy for the second half of the season.
